State v. Nolan

by
After a jury trial, Appellant was convicted of first degree murder and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. Defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment for the first degree murder conviction. The Supreme Court affirmed the convictions and sentences on appeal. Defendant later filed a pro se motion for postconviction relief. The district court denied the motion without holding an evidentiary hearing. The Supreme Court reversed in part and affirmed in part, holding (1) the district court erred when it denied Appellant an evidentiary hearing on three of his claims; but (2) the district court did not otherwise err in its judgment.
